About Our Approach
Our approach has been realized from decades of experience working directly with children, teens, young adults, and adults who have experienced trauma or an adverse event in their childhood, or who live in homeless, poverty level, and refugee status.

A report highlighted by SAMSHA indicates that 46 % of US children 0-17 years of age have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Trauma can include abuse, neglect, incarceration of a family member, being a victim of or witnessing community violence, being subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice, living with adults who have mental or substance use disorders, or the death of a loved one, according to data from Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) providing estimates of key measures of children's health and wellbeing.

Our approach has been developed from successful implementations of programs, training, and team-building with all cultures around the world, and in Houston, the most diverse city in the US. Projects and programs are guided by evidence-based practices and are successful because they are culturally considerate, driving adoption of new processes or changes for the individual, group, or system.

Our approach is adaptable to the needs of who we are serving.

Our approach is trauma-informed and takes into account whole-person health and whole-system health.

Our approach is focused on sustainable solutions that play a role in long-term resilience.

We are taught and trained by the esteemed Center for Mind-Body Medicine, Rice University, Boston College, and the University of Houston.
